Terms & Conditions

Thank you for considering Rebecca Shardlow’s Hair and Makeup services.

1. AGREEMENT & BOOKING FEES

1.1 PLEASE READ ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY. Payment of the booking fee is acknowledgment & acceptance of these terms by the client. By proceeding to pay the booking fee you accept that you are entering into a contract and you agree to be bound by these conditions. ‘We’ and ‘Team’ are used throughout the document to refer to all bridal/wedding bookings made with Rebecca Shardlow.

1.2 When you have confirmed that you wish to book our services for your wedding day, you will receive an itemised breakdown of costs and the total balance owed. To secure your wedding date all bookings require a 30% non-refundable booking fee. Please note booking fees are non-refundable due to change of mind or cancellation and are also non- transferable.

1.3 Booking fees needs to be received within 7 days of receiving your quote otherwise we will not be able to set aside the date for you. When making payment please use your full name and wedding date as a reference. Once the booking fee has been processed, it is then subtracted from your total balance and you will be sent a final invoice.

1.4 All prices quoted are valid for 14 days from the quotation date and are subject to change after this time has elapsed.

2. PAYMENT TERMS

2.1 A non-refundable booking fee of 30% of the total cost is required to secure all bookings. Booking fees are non- refundable and non-transferable. If the booking date is changed after confirmation the booking fee will be retained to cover the loss of other bookings being turned away due to originally being booked for the date.

2.2 The minimum numbers for hair and/or makeup need to be confirmed and final, at the time of securing your booking fee. These numbers will remain the minimum and cannot be reduced. If someone decides to pull out of their service, the total amount quoted will remain the same and no refund will be offered, we recommend replacing them with someone else. It is acceptable to add more people and/or services if it is possible for the team to achieve within the given timeframes. You will still be charged for those people.

2.3 Booking fee’s are to be paid via bank transfer to the nominated account and MUST be paid within 7 days of receiving your invoice (unless otherwise discussed). If this payment is not received within this timeframe your date is not secure.

2.4 The total balance owing can be paid in cash on the day of your event or made via bank transfer/direct deposit. All bank transfers must be paid one week prior to the event. Should the direct deposit payment method be chosen, you are required to email rebeccashardlow.hmua@gmail.com a payment receipt provided to you by your bank.

2.5 An early callout fee of $50 per artist may be applied if makeup application and hairstyling is required to begin prior to 5am. We understand that at the time of booking, you may be unaware of schedule requirements for the day, however you agree that this fee will be added to your final invoice.

2.6 An additional fee will be incurred for large bookings that require more than two artists. Additional artists and/or assistants will only be added where required or where requested.

2.7 Overnight accomodation fees may apply in the event that the team are unable to travel the day of the event.

3. PREPARATION, ALLERGIES AND HYGIENE

3.1 We ask that in preparation for all makeup services your skin has been cleansed and is free of any skincare (unless discussed otherwise) and makeup products. We also recommend wearing a loose or button up shirt so the clothing doesn’t impact your makeup when changing.

3.2 For hair services we recommend washing your hair the night before or morning of and ensure it is dry prior to the service (unless otherwise discussed). When washing your hair we suggest you do a double shampoo and lightly condition the mid lengths to ends ensuring this is thoroughly washed out. We understand that you know your hair best and some hair types require specific preparation for styling, if you have concerns please identify this with the team via email. Additionally we advise wearing a loose or button up shirt so the clothing doesn’t impact your hair when changing.

3.3 Some hairstyles may require added clip in extensions for fullness and longevity. We do not provide these. If you are unsure if this is applicable to your required hairstyle please address this query via email, we are also able to provide a list of recommended suppliers.

3.4 In no event shall artist Rebecca Shardlow have any liability for incidental, or consequential damages however characterised. It is your responsibility to notify the team prior to the commencement of both hair and makeup services of any allergies or sensitivities that you may have or experience. If you are allergic or react to specific ingredient(s), but don’t know what that ingredient is, we can not be held responsible for any adverse reactions you may have.

3.5 If anyone within the party requiring hair and makeup services presents with contagious or non-contagious contraindications the team needs to be informed prior to the commencement of all services and we reserve the right to refuse services based on this. Contagious contraindications may include, but are not limited too, conjunctivitis, styes or cysts, cold sores, head lice, rashes, impetigo, staph infections, abnormal skin conditions and open wounds or cuts on the face and/or neck. Non-contagious contraindications that may also affect the teams ability to provide hair and makeup services can include, contact lenses, recent (within 24 – 48 hours) cosmetic injectables, IPL or laser treatments. These precautions are taken to protect both you, our clients and our team.

4. WORKSPACES

4.1 For mobile bookings we will require a workspace that is clean and well-ventilated, ideally with natural sunlight where possible. We suggest areas such as dining tables, kitchen benches or tables that are waist height. For hairstyling services we will also require a nearby power point.

4.2 A chair is supplied for all makeup services. All hair services will need access to low chair or stool.

5. TRAVEL AND PARKING

5.1 Travel fees are based on our inability to provide other services during the time of travel and will be detailed on each invoice based on travel time.

5.2 Compensation for parking costs are the responsibility of the client in instances where parking is restricted and where parking fees and charges may apply, e.g. hotel parking, metered parking etc.

6. PRIVACY AND PHOTOGRAPHS

6.1 In instances where photographs and videos are captured Rebecca Shardlow, they may be shared via our websites and social media platforms. We understand that not all our clients may be comfortable with this and if this is the case, we ask that you please inform us prior to, or on the day of your event.

7. TRIALS

7.1 While trials are highly recommended they are not essential to book the teams services. All quotes and payments related to trials are separate to those of the wedding day booking.

7.2 A 30% non-refundable booking fee of the total trial cost is required to secure the trial date. Booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If the trial date is changed after confirmation the booking fee will be retained to cover the loss of other bookings being turned away due to originally being booked for the date/time.

7.3 Trials will take place at the clients location and will include an in depth consultation before commencing hair and/or makeup services. Trial appointments can take 1.5 – 2 hours with a maximum of one style (for each service), however we do allow for small tweaks to be made. If you require an additional style or would like to trial other looks you will need to make an additional booking(s).

7.4 During busy periods the teams availability may be limited and it may not always be possible for us to schedule trials at the weekend, particularly Saturdays. We recommend conducted your trial 1 – 4 months prior to the wedding day and aligning it with an event leading up to the wedding where possible (For example; pre-wedding shoots, dress fittings, kitchen tea, hens party etc).

8. COVID-19

8.1 Rebecca Shardlow has always, and continues to maintain the highest hygiene practices and cleanliness standards. We have also implemented additional precautions by wearing protective masks to each client booking, washing and sanitising hands before and after each interaction and using additional disinfecting techniques, during and after each service.

8.2 Please advise the team prior to the event if you or anyone you have been in contact with has travelled internationally or regionally (to areas identified as hot spots) within the 14 days prior to your event. We also ask that you advise the team if you are feeling unwell and present with any of the following symptoms; fever, coughing, muscle aches, runny nose, shortness of breath.

8.3 In the instance that your event or wedding is postponed due to COVID-19, we will do our best to make ourselves available for the revised date. In instances of postponement due to COVID-19 your booking fee will be transferred to the new date. If our team is unable to accomodate the new date, a credit note will be issued for the full amount of the booking fee. This credit can be used up to 6 months of the original booking date.

8.4 In instances where members within the group booking are unable to attend due to COVID-19 our normal payment terms apply. Please see Payment Terms 2.2
